AI takeoff refers to the events surrounding the creation of advanced AI systems including artificial general intelligence. In the field of AI alignment, the most discussed aspect of AI takeoff is the AI takeoff shape (roughly, whether the emergence of an AGI will be sudden or gradual, how quickly economic activity will accelerate after advanced AI systems appear, and so on).
