there's also the question of relative vs absolute timelines. given all the "game-changing technologies", it makes sense to focus on the one that relatively speaking will come first. but also, if all of them are far off, we can do more strategizing/indirect stuff.

what are all of the "default timelines" of various technologies?

there are also various kinds of timelines:

  • "default timeline"
  • timeline given lots of additional funding
  • timeline given current levels of interest in the thing
  • timeline after EA intervention

there's also the question of relative vs absolute timelines. given all the "game-changing technologies", it makes sense to focus on the one that relatively speaking will come first. but also, if all of them are far off, we can do more strategizing/indirect stuff.
