An empty review or fake review is a review of a card in Anki where you just press "Good" without thinking it through.

This is most useful when reviewing newly-created big cards -- there, you might have just spent a lot of time making the card in the first place, so immediately doing a review is not helpful. In this case, the empty review only makes sense when the learning steps and/or graduating interval are large enough (otherwise you will just see the card again in 10 minutes or 1 day or whatever).
